Molecular Materialism

Unlike Micro-Materialism, which predicts that you need to descend into the quantum level to observe the physical qualities of redness, Molecular Materialism (or Macro-Materialism) theory predicts that quantum theories of consciousness, such as Penrose-Hameroff’s Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch OR) are not required. Molecular materialism predicts that quale consist of things at the atomic level and above. In simplest terms, molecular materialism differs from micro-materialism in the size of the material of each quale: atoms or molecules, vs. quantum particles.
