Michael Edward Johnson

Michael Edward Johnson is a co-founder of the Qualia Research Institute in San Francisco, where he works on the foundations of formalism in consciousness. His major work is Principia Qualia, which lays out a blueprint for what a 'mature science of qualia' could look like, and puts forth the Symmetry Theory of Valence (STV). His current lines of research involve exploring the 'connectome-specific harmonic wave' (CSHW) paradigm as a proxy for phenomenological texture, and attempting to bridge this paradigm with Friston's Free Energy Principle.
