While it is true that Force Healing is inconsistent with what we have seen about the Force in previous movies and material, it seems a logical evolution in how the Force operates. It allows Rey and Kylo Ren to demonstrate that they are more powerful than their predecessors, so we don’t have to assume Luke Skywalker and other Jedi had this ability but did not use it. Consequently, it doesn’t contradict established canon.
