"No Man Can Serve Two Masters"

   "No man can serve two masters;

   for either he will hate the one and love the other,

   or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.

   Ye cannot serve God and Mammon."

There are two copies of this in the bible: Luke 16:13, Matthew 6:24, and one in the Book of Mormon: 3 Nephi 13:24.

As with most scriptures, they can be interpreted many drastically different ways. The thinking that results from most interpretations of these kinds of primitive lesser law scriptures is simply hate incarnate. At best, most interpretations seem to simply give up on any faith and hope that more than this kind of hierarchical hate and despising is possible.

We view any using of such scriptures as an excuse to not step out of one's comfort zone, to not work to learn about, attend, and even learn to walk in the shoes of those with other faiths and hopes, as reprehensible. Diversity is a great thing, and the more if it, the better. Certainly God is infinitely diverse. God clearly serves more than one master, in that he serves all of us. We seek to do the same.

Ephesians 4:5 says:

   "One Lord, one faith, one baptism"

We have faith and hope that this "one faith" is the sum total of what everyone wants, especially the people at the bottom. We seek to know, concisely and quantitatively, what everyone truly wants. We will never give up, whether in this life or the next, till we find out perfectly what it all is, and get it all, for everyone.

In the primitive and very limited past, hostile beliefs such as this were necessary. Organizations of people for which the majority believed in such, were much more survivable in a "if you're not with us, you're against us" destroy all competitors way. So we've been bread to tend to think like this. We repudiate any hierarchy that thinks they are the only one, all others needing to be destroyed or converted.

Now things are much improved, and continue to improve at least exponentially. We have many more abilities to get and serve more people and goals than was possible in primitive times. We love Atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Gentails and all people. We seek after and pursue the good in all of it. If there really is some Devil, still suffering in and choosing any kind of Hell, we want to be with, and serve them, for as long as is necessary.
