The thought experiments Brent discusses in the story are very well conceptualised. We do not agree with the type of craziness which leads one to assert that consciousness is not real, and we agree that if it is possible to pin down the physical basis of consciousness well enough it might be possible to induce particular experiences at will, thus "effing the ineffable".
