No, abstract systems are not like anything

Abstract systems represent information with abstract words like ‘red’. You need a dictionary to know what they mean. Conscious knowledge, on the other hand, has intrinsic physical qualities like redness and greenness. Your redness is your definition of the word ‘red’. A system could be engineered to represent red information with your greenness, as portrayed in the second system in the above image.

The emerging consensus Representational Qualia Theory camp points out that consciousness is composed of elemental intrinsic qualities like redness, greenness, warmth, smell and so on. Given that definition of consciousness, abstract systems are not like anything so shouldn’t be considered conscious, no matter how much more intelligent they are than us.
