Score Then Automatic Runoff (STAR) voting asks voters to rate each candidate on a scale of 0-5. Voters may rate multiple candidates the same, and scores left blank default to 0. The scores are added up, and the two candidates with the highest scores enter an instant runoff round. In the runoff, ballots are partitioned by which candidate the voter rated higher, and the candidate with the most supporting ballots wins.
