The four different firsthand accounts of the supposed "First Vision" contradict each other. Most notably, the 1832 account, written in Joseph Smith's own hand, says only that he saw "the Lord," as opposed to later accounts where he claims to have seen both the Father and the Son. These contradictions suggest that the First Vision was a fabrication, not a true divine event.
