Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program to expedite pre-approved, low-risk air travelers through use of automated kiosks at the 20 largest U.S. international airports. By bypassing regular passport control queues and routine CBP questioning Global Entry significantly reduces overall wait times.
Currently over 599,000 travelers participate in Global Entry. Global Entry kiosks have been used over 784,000 times to scan members’ passports and fingerprints. This has saved CBP approximately 16,300 inspection hours—staff hours that have been used to expedite the regular passenger queues. The $100 Global Entry application fee enrolls the traveler for five years. Membership is currently open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. lawful permanent residents, Mexican citizens, and Dutch citizens.
