The Office for State and Local Law Enforcement (OSLLE) provides the Department with primary coordination, liaison, and advocacy for state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus law enforcement agencies.

On the recommendation of the 9/11 Commission, Congress created the Office for State and Local Law Enforcement (OSLLE) in 2007 for two key purposes:

Lead the coordination of DHS-wide policies related to state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus law enforcement’s role in preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters within the United States; and Serve as the primary liaison between DHS and non-Federal law enforcement agencies across the country.
