llegal immigration is an affront to the rule of law. A border wall is the most effective tool to secure the border, and there is a great deal of empirical data that shows that walls work.
Israel built a 150-mile barrier on its border with Egypt, and they reduced illegal border crossings from 17,000 in 2011 to only 43 in 2017 - a staggering 99.7% reduction. Similar results can be found from walls in Bulgaria and Spain, which have seen illegal immigration decline by 63.6% and 95.2%, respectively, since border walls were built.
In the United States, the results are similar. A fence installed between Yuma, Arizona and Los Algondones, Mexico reduced border crossings by 90.7%, which significantly decreased crime in the Yuma area. (https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/01/border-walls-democrat-partisan-politics/)
Securing the border with a wall is simply common sense. This should not be a partisan issue. A nation that cannot secure its borders is no nation at all.
