This camp agrees with Nobel laureate professor Milton Friedman that prohibition doesn't work.
Edit summary :
The war on illegal drugs is futile and costly both in financial terms and in terms of human suffering. It also fosters massive profits made by violent criminal gangs some of whom use the money for terrorist activities.
Even if prohibition weren't counter-productive, it is unethical: it is not for the state to criminalise informed adult usage of drugs.
We believe that decriminalisation would significantly reduce the abuse problem. We could use tax revenue to control dangerous activity, provide specialist care for casualties, educate children, and ensure the products are pure and properly labelled.
