Statement : On Aug 15, 2009, Martine Rothblatt made a post to the Institute for Emerging Ethics & Technologies: "Can Consciousness be Created in Software?". Theoreticians have been debating this question at least since we first started using the concept of software with the first computational devices.
The goal of this open survey topic is to get a handle on how well accepted either side of this issue is, and the most popular reasons for why. And to track this consensus going forward as ever more scientific data comes in.

Statement : The Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" taught by Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Jesus and Mohammed is, in Truth, a monotheistic Doctrine of 'Rebirth' similar to the Buddhist Doctrine of 'Rebirth'. It is based upon the Revelation of the "resurrection"; which includes the Revelation of the Memory of Creation (Genesis 2:7) and the revelation of the memories of previous lives; as cryptically referred to in Isaiah 8:16 and 26:19, and Daniel 12:2; and figuratively described by Jesus in his reply to the Sadducees (Luke 20:1-40; especially vs. 34-36).
