Robert Ettinger is considered by many to be a Transhumanist pioneer because of such works as his 1972 book "Man into Superman". He is also considered "The Father of Cryonics" because of works like the 1962 book "The Prospect of Immortality". He obviously has a keen mind and ability to see what is and will be important now and in the future. This intellect spans many philosophical issues including the study of the mind.
