I'd like to welcome all the new supporters, including Daniel Durrant (Dayzen) who recently joined Jordan Taylor's (omgpop's) [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/29 5th dimensional qualia] camp. Congratulations Jordan, with this new support you are now in a 3 way tie for the camp that has the second most consensus (after the Representational Qualia Theory). This is all still ones and twos, but I think it is a good indicator of great possibilities going forward.
I don't know how many of you know who Jordan Taylor is, but he is a young man from Scotland that I consider to be somewhat of a prodigy. All the ivory tower sages are where they are precisely because they have spent a huge part of their life attempting to digest a portion of the 20K publications on this topic - with the idea being until anyone does the same, they can't compete. But I believe having concise and quantitative summary survey representations of the best theories would not only enable normal people to approach this theoretical field in powerful ways- but also enable prodigies like Jordan to compete with all the people that have spent so much of their life attempting to digest a lot of what I consider to be low quality and largely mistaken published information.
I've got all the reservations set up for [http://www.consciousness.arizona.edu/ TSC] in Tucson next month and very much looking forward to it. It's great to have stories such as this to talk to people about.
Thanks all, and I hope everyone continues to get their camps in the best shape possible before we showcase them in Tucson next month and before our add shows up in the next issue of [http://www.imprint.co.uk/jcs.html JCS]. In particular, now that we have the "approachable via science camp", if you're camp is not in a supporting position of this camp it implies that you are a competitor that disagrees with this camp? I know some of you have suggested you would move your camp - if you need any help with this let me know.
Hopefully the best camps will get more supporters from this effort, and we'll also get some people to start good camps we don't yet have represented in the survey.
Upward,
Brent Allsop
