Ah, thanks Brent. I'm not sure I was here when it was the old topic.

Hi Multisense, It's just that quite some time ago, people proposed that "Theories of Consciousness" would be more encompassing than just the 'hard problem'. I objected for quite some time, for the very reasons you are mentioning, here. But then I eventually came around as more and more people spent more time on the "Theories of Consciousness" topic, and more and more people just didn't keep the older "Hard Problem" survey topic up to date, mostly because we don't need to have all the information and work duplicated.

"the "Hard Problem" survey topic is now mostly out of date. Most supporters have abandoned that, and are now only working on this leading version" I'm curious to what you mean by that. Is there someone who supported a Hard Problem position that abandoned it, or are you just saying that the nomenclature has changed within Canonizer? Thanks, Craig PS Not to be inflammatory, but IMO, If someone doesn't think that the Hard Problem is the most important problem in studying consciousness as a whole, then they cannot possibly understand the Hard Problem.

Welcome [http://canonizer.com/support_list.asp?nick_name_id=309 Andy Kay]. Your new [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/58 Panexperientialism] camp is exciting to see, and it's great to have someone start to organize the [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/57 Unapproachable Via Science] camp. I propose that we move all other camps that are currently competing with the [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/2 Approachable Via Science] camp to show what they all agree on. Including moving the following: * [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/25 Advaita and Consciousness] * [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/41 Consciousness is of Divine Origin and Unfathomable Apart from God] * [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/26 Consciousness is structurally coded] Andy, would you like to move all these camps into supporting positions of your new Unapproachable via science camp? If you'd rather, I can do this. And of course, if anyone objects to such an improvement in the structure, let us know so we can collaboratively work to find what works best for everyone. Andy, I have some questions about your new camp and paper, so I'll post them to the forum for your [http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/58 Panexperientialism] camp. Note: I'm focusing on the "Theories of Mind" versions, since the "Hard Problem" survey topic is now mostly out of date. Most supporters have abandoned that, and are now only working on this leading version. There is no need to duplicate all of this effort in both survey topics. Upwards, Brent Allsop
