Hi Junius (and all future supporters of this camp),
We've finally entered the Orch OR theory camp statement authored by Stuart Hameroff in the Theories of Consciousness Topic here:
[http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/88/20 Penrose-Hameroff Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch OR) theory]
I hope you'll go to this camp, scroll down to the support section and select the "Join or Directly Support This Camp" link as I have done.
I see you created Stuart's camp as a sub camp of Penros' camp.
You can support multiple competing camps in one topic, but when you support multiple competing camps like this, you don't get the full value of your vote - at least for the one person one vote algorithm. Supporting sub camps is different, in that your entire vote also supports all parent camps. It is not counted as splitting your vote.
Putting the Hameroff camp as a supporting sub camp, instead of a competing camp, as you have done, gives people that only support these two an advantage as they get a bit more of a vote by not splitting their vote into two competing camps.
But for the more important 'mind experts' algorithm this is not the case, since it has a punishing factor for experts that only support themselves. If you support more than one camp, the algorithm gives you more value, and I'm hoping we can get both Stuart and Roger to join each of these camps (and their Orch OR) camp in the best theories of consciousness. This kind of team work (and your and my support...) will give them much more influence over the system.
And also, the spirit of this topic, is not to group people, but simply to have everyone vote for the top 10 or so in a fair competitive contest.
Therefore, I hope you're OK we me changing the parent of Stuart's camp to be the root agreement statement.
Also, I'll be joining these camps with you, and I'll let you know when we have the Orch OR camp added to the best theories of conscious topic so we can all join it also.
We are excited that Stuart Hamerof is interested in helping us canonize Penrose and Hamerof's '''Orch OR''' theory. Stuart, and everyone is talking about this integration in the theories of consciousness topic forum here:
I wondered if you would be interested in also starting an expert camp for Stuart, like this one for Roger Penrose.
Now that I better understand their '''Orch OR''' theory, I'd like to also join these camps and support them as obvious leading experts on the topic of consciousness.
Thanks and looking forward to hearing your thoughts on any of this.
