Dear Brent, Elders are parents and grandparents who guide kids towards maturity --- including sexual maturity. Here we can add teachers and others as guardians. Unfortunately, sex is a taboo and kids are often left to discover their sexuality on their own. Since many guardians respect taboos --- they actually fail the trust of their own kids. That's why we have so huge issues with unwanted pregnancies. Now, if we do guide our kids towards mature assessments of the risks --- we will have much less unwanted pregnancies and the issue will gradually disappear from our lists... Have a nice day, Damir

Hi Damir, Here are a few problems I see with this initial version: I have no idea what you mean by "Elders". Also, I don't think anyone should "hide their guilt behind a moral authority of any kind", not just "Elders"? Younger people can be just as guilty as Elders, for example. Also, facts like "Unwonted pregnancies can be result of sexual abuse." are obviously true, but I don't see any reason why this should be included in a concise description of the yes camp? Dear all, I suggest the following camp statement for Yes camp: ---- Unwonted pregnancies are, mostly, the responsibility of elders who did not raise youngsters well enough re sex and love. Unwonted pregnancies can be result of sexual abuse. This is also elders' responsibility, since they did not educate the abuser well enough about sex and love. Elders must not hide their guilt behind a moral authority of any kind. They must be honest enough and apologise. Only then their advice to young women can be accepted in love and care... ---- Have a nice day, Damir
